E2E unveils next generation Model Execution platform for «Advanced SOA»
E2E Bridge 4.0 forges ahead to offer key to enterprise agility
BASEL, Switzerland, December 10, 2007
E2E (E2EBridge.com), the pioneer in Model Driven Integration (MDI) software today announced the global availability of a market-transforming evolution of its flagship product, the E2E Bridge. This fourth generation MDI platform offers the first – and only – integrated development, execution and testing environment based on direct Model Execution for UML, BPMN and other modeling languages such as IDS Scheer’s EPC format. The E2E Bridge 4.0 is available in four pre-packaged MDI solutions which address the complete spectrum of current – and future – SOA integration needs. These four solutions support end user organizations, software vendors and service providers alike to leverage the seamless combination of BPM, SOA and EDA, otherwise referred to as “Advanced SOA”. The end result will give organizations rapid and predictable business transformation based on a more transparent, flexible and scalable IT infrastructure.
«With the latest generation of the E2E Bridge and our Model Driven Integration approach, we are handing companies of all sizes the keys to sustainable business agility,» says Serge Gansner, CEO and Co-founder of E2E. «This new version builds on the experience we’ve collected from real life, mission critical MDI projects over the past couple of years. E2E Bridge 4.0 demonstrates the universality of MDI to successfully address the complex integration challenges companies are facing in a globalized, highly networked economy -- regardless if they are an end user organization, a software vendor or an IT service provider.»
Alex Büch, CTO and Co-founder of E2E, adds: «Two years ago, the market believed that Model Execution applied to SOA was technically or methodologically impossible. Over the past two years, E2E customers have successfully proven the practicality and the value of MDI in a broad spectrum of business integration scenarios.»
E2E brings Model Driven Integration to all market segments
E2E is now offering the E2E Bridge 4.0 as pre-packaged solutions that address common integration challenges – all in out-of-the-box, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use standalone products. The foundation for all of E2E’s MDI solutions is the E2E Bridge for Advanced SOA that is offered in four different configurations:
- Bridge 4 Process - a unique model based Process Execution platform that bridges the gap between BPM, SOA and EDA and supports direct execution of UML, BPMN and ARIS EPC models.
- Bridge 4 Interfaces - a powerful toolset to flexibly manage the lifecycle of last mile connectivity to commercial and home grown applications, which can be used as a complement to existing integration infrastructure from Oracle, SAP and many other middleware offerings.
- Bridge 4 Xtreme - a high performance SOA/EDA platform that enables model based Xtreme Transaction Processing (XTP), scaling to billions of transactions per day using commodity server infrastructure.
- Bridge 4 Demand - a highly efficient multi-domain integration backbone that caters for the scalability needs of providers of On-Demand SaaS solutions, combined with a per transaction pricing model.
«We can state with full confidence that our fourth generation MDI platform truly bridges the gap between BPM, SOA and EDA, facilitating the harmonization of business and IT blueprints,» states Alex Büch. «The Bridge 4 Process fills this gap by complementing existing BPM offerings with direct model execution. “We are bringing to market a purely model based approach to solving the alignment problem and have overcome the tooling challenges left behind by BPEL, by leveraging executable BPMN,» he adds.
In terms of KPI extraction for Process Performance Management, the Bridge 4 Interfaces addresses the challenge of last mile connectivity to extract Key Performance Indicators from existing backend systems.
Alex Büch continues: «We have solved the issue of identifying suitable KPIs and dealing with backend legacy systems and their poorly documented interfaces using an agile Interface Bridging approach ideally suited for such performance monitoring initiatives.»
As a scalable SOA infrastructure driven by transaction intensive applications, the Bridge 4 Xtreme solution addresses fundamental SOA performance and scalability issues found in other SOA platforms. With 200 to 1000 transactions per CPU and per second measured on commodity hardware, and using a state-of-the-art domain-based scalability concept, the Bridge 4 Xtreme can handle billions of transactions per day with a system footprint that is one order of magnitude smaller compared to established SOA platforms.
The E2E Bridge 4.0 also offers SOA/EDA integration for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers, since On-Demand Software has emerged as an attractive delivery alternative. With the Bridge 4 Demand, E2E has combined the ease of dealing with last mile connectivity together with the unsurpassed scalability and throughput of the Bridge 4 Xtreme, to offer the perfect integration backbone for SaaS providers.
According to a March 2007 Gartner report, «Cool Vendors in Integration and Platforms, 2007» by Jess Thompson, Massimo Pezzini and Yefim V. Natis, Gartner, Inc. , «Establishing the required integration using executable models will make the implementation of services go more quickly, and will make it easier to maintain and modify those services that are created in this manner. A platform combining model driven development, orchestration capabilities and a business logic container atop a scalable engine provides opportunities for greater developer productivity, simplified services deployment, management and maintenance, and cost reduction due to service reuse.»
Leading organizations readily adopt latest generation MDI
Venturing beyond using the E2E Bridge purely for SOA integration only, Intrum Justitia is far along in the process of redeveloping the majority of its in-house ERP solution based on E2E’s Advanced SOA platform. Intrum is also the first company worldwide to use the new process execution capabilities of the E2E Bridge, which allows direct execution of ARIS EPC process models without modification, thus turning existing process documentation into executable processes.
«Many organizations are in disbelief with the strides we have made using E2E Bridge», comments Richard Fallegger, IT-Manager at Intrum Justitia. «After using E2E’s Model Execution platform for nearly a year, it’s hardly imaginable that we should ever want to go back to our old ways. We have gained more control, certainty and end-to-end transparency. At Intrum, business and IT will finally share ONE single blueprint that can be collaboratively improved.»
